OraSure Technologies Inc. is seeking an International Logistics Specialist to coordinate complex cross-border shipments from order entry to final delivery.

You will prepare proforma invoices, obtain quotes, monitor orders, coordinate shipping documentation, ensure trade compliance, and provide proactive customer support. The role requires strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and experience with SAP and freight-forwarding software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of incoterms, trade compliance, and shipping documentation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify terms of sale including Incoterms.
• Secure rate quotes from selected carriers.
• Enter sales order documentation into SAP.
• Coordinate product availability and storage with Production/Planning.
• Prepare or coordinate import/export documentation.
• Track all in-process shipments until final destination.

Summary / Objective

The International Logistics Specialist coordinates international logistics from customer order entry through final shipment. Responsibilities include preparing proforma invoices, securing rate quotes, monitoring orders, coordinating shipping documentation, ensuring trade compliance, and providing customer support.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Verify terms of sale including Incoterms.
• Ensure profitability while accommodating customer requests.
• Secure rate quotes from selected carriers.
• Maintain professional relationships with carriers/partners.
• Compare and negotiate rates to determine cost‑efficiency, competitiveness, and quality of service.
• Create proforma invoices linked to payment processes and official POs.
• Enter sales order documentation into SAP.
• Coordinate product availability and storage with Production/Planning.
• Prepare or coordinate import/export documentation (Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, AES Filing, Certificate of Analysis, Pre‑Shipment Inspection, Letter of Credit, Bill of Lading, Declaration of Conformity, certificates of export, etc.).
• Track all in‑process shipments until final destination.
• Act as the primary customer point of contact, facilitating order placement, addressing inquiries, and proactively managing shipments.
• Work with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, inspection agencies for coordination and contingency planning.
• Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes based on customs regulations and product data.
• Facilitate and track international shipments between manufacturing and customer.
• Assist with duty and tax analysis.
• Resolve customs clearance issues by working with carriers and brokers.
• Maintain account management of major customer accounts.
• Assist with audits and other logistics duties as requested.
• Identify and implement conflict resolution and coordination with production/sales to meet forecasts and customer requests.
• Fulfill promotional marketing shipping requests from Sales & Marketing.

Qualifications

• Reliable high‑speed internet connection for remote work.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams.
• Knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and logistics management systems.
• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking.
• In‑depth understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and shipping documentation.
• Knowledge of customs clearance procedures, duty/tax analysis.
• Technical knowledge of trade compliance principles (valuation, incoterms, licenses, origin, HTS, duty optimization, free trade agreements, export controls, sanctions).
• Attention to detail and compliance with shipping regulations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, or related field. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in international logistics.

Physical Requirements

Office or home‑office environment. Ability to sit or stand for long periods, frequent computer use, fine motor tasks, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.

Travel Requirements

Travel may be required to local Bethlehem, PA sites within a 10‑mile radius. Additional limited travel for meetings, training, audits, or collaboration may be requested.
