We are currently searching for an International Communications Specialist to join our team.

POSITION SUMMARY

The International Communications Specialist supports PHLCVB’s global communications efforts through hands‑on execution across assigned international markets. Reporting to the International Communications Manager, this role is responsible for producing market‑specific content, coordinating media engagement (including familiarization (FAM) tours) and executing international projects aligned with PHLCVB’s broader communications strategy.

The Specialist serves as a key execution partner to internal teams, international representation agencies, and external partners, helping bring international storylines to life while operating within established workflows, priorities, and standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Market-Level Communications Execution
  • Execute communications initiatives for assigned international markets in alignment with PHLCVB priorities, messaging, and storylines.
  • Collect, develop, and organize market‑specific content to support media outreach, storytelling, and campaigns.
  • Support the execution of international communications plans developed by the International Communications Manager.
Media Engagement & FAM Tour Coordination
  • Schedule and support international media familiarization (FAM) tours, including itineraries, logistics, hosting support, and post‑visit follow‑up.
  • Assist with international media requests by gathering information, assets, and story support materials.
  • Support visiting media, influencers, and partners as needed.
Agency & Partner Collaboration
  • Work closely with international PR representation agencies to support approved pitches, storylines, and media opportunities.
  • Craft and provide content for market newsletters, social media, sales materials, and other international promotions.
  • Maintain clear communication with agencies and partners regarding timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Escalate questions, challenges, or capacity concerns to the International Communications Manager.
Content, Influencer & Digital Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Digital Content and Marketing teams to support international storytelling and influencer initiatives.
  • Assist with influencer engagement activities aligned with international priorities and campaigns.
  • Ensure content, activations, and materials align with PHLCVB’s messaging and brand standards.
Project & Workflow Support
  • Manage assigned project timelines, task lists, and deliverables across multiple markets.
  • Track project status and provide updates to the International Communications Manager.
  • Support reporting, documentation, and internal tracking related to international communications activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, media relations, or a related field; tourism or international experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting media relations, content development, or events a plus.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus.
Required Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English. Fluency in other languages a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Cultural awareness and professionalism when working with international markets.
  • Interest in tourism, events, and hospitality industry preferred. Knowledge of Philadelphia, including hotels, attractions and special events is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365; familiarity with media tracking or project management tools a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and using AI‑powered tools to support research and content development.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends for media hosting and international communications needs.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
