This role ensures that all shipments—ranging from small parcels to large freight—are dispatched accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Freight Supervisor works closely with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to manage transportation schedules, resolve escalations, and ensure the safe handling of high-value, event-based hardware. This position also focuses on optimizing shipping processes, reducing costs, and leading a team to maintain operational excellence.

This is a salaried position requiring flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and during peak business periods. You will report to the Warehouse Manager.

  • Freight and Small Parcel Operations Management: Oversee daily freight and small parcel operations, ensuring event-based hardware and equipment are picked, packaged, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
  • Carrier Coordination: Manage relationships with domestic and international freight carriers, small parcel providers, brokers, and forwarders to ensure reliable service, negotiate competitive rates, and resolve delivery issues.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all shipments comply with domestic and international shipping regulations, including preparing and verifying bills of lading (BOLs), commercial invoices, customs declarations, and small parcel labels.
  • Small Parcel Optimization: Manage small parcel shipping workflows, including selecting appropriate carriers, monitoring delivery times, and minimizing costs through efficient packaging and shipping strategies.
  • Technical Asset Protection: Implement best practices to ensure event hardware and technical equipment are properly handled, packaged, and transported to prevent damages or delays.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance metrics, including on-time delivery, freight and small parcel costs, and carrier performance. Provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot escalated shipping and small parcel issues, including transit delays, damages, or compliance concerns, implementing corrective actions and communicating updates to internal teams and clients.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline freight and small parcel shipping workflows, optimize transit times, and reduce transportation costs.
  • Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise warehouse associates involved in freight and small parcel operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and shipping standards.
  • Logistics Planning: Plan and coordinate shipping schedules for freight and small parcel deliveries, aligning with event timelines and operational priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with warehouse operations, inventory teams, and event coordinators to align priorities, resolve logistics issues, and deliver seamless shipping solutions.
  • Manage escalations: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve escalations where shipments are delayed or have issues with required documentation.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
  • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material‑handling equipment as needed.
  • Performing detailed tasks such as reviewing shipping documentation, packaging small parcels, and inspecting equipment.
Work Environment
  • Working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperature conditions and handling high-value technical hardware.
  • Balancing time between warehouse operations, small parcel workflows, freight coordination, and desk‑based planning and reporting tasks.
  • Engaging in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines for event‑based shipping schedules.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure accurate and timely freight and small parcel deliveries.
  • Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in freight logistics, small parcel shipping, or warehouse operations, including 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and documentation (e.g., INCOTERMS, BOLs, and parcel labels).
