AFC Worldwide Express, Inc. seeks an International Account Executive to grow Ocean/Air and Import/Export customer accounts. You will act as the liaison between licensed customs brokers, agents, terminal operators, and customers to coordinate bookings and prepare all shipping documentation.

You will prepare quotes, dispatch pickups, and track shipments while ensuring regulatory compliance and timely communication with customers and overseas agents.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Experience in Freight Forwarding is desirable.
  • Prior experience with CargoWise One software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of import/export laws and regulations preferred.
  • Fluent English; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

International Account Executiveis responsible for developing our Ocean/Air and Import/Export customer accounts by acting as a liaison between Licensed Customs Brokers, agents, Ocean/Air Terminal Operators, and customers. This includes preparing quotes and all necessary shipping documentation for customers and overseas agents, coordinating the routing of import and export bookings, dispatching pickups, and tracking and tracing shipments.

International Account Executive Iresponsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Timely preparation of rates and quotes for customers and overseas agents
  • Coordinate the routing of import and export bookings with airline and ocean carriers
  • Review and ensure alignment of shipping instructions including to clarify any deviations/conflicts in contradiction to country regulations, export compliance, rate, and routing information.
  • Support the development of existing and new customers
  • Collaborate and build relationships with customers, carriers, and agent representatives regarding air, ocean, import, and export products
  • Prepare all necessary shipping documentation related to international bookings and process all import/export documentation to clearing agents to include: (HAWB’s, MAWB’s, AES’s, Manifest, Shipping Instructions, Haz Cargo Decl., Bill of Ladings, and Certificate of Origin, etc.)
  • Dispatch pick-ups to authorized agents and drayage companies, shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, clearing agents, warehouses, and all other parties involved in the shipment
  • Track and trace shipments, researching and resolving any issues regarding billing or shipping discrepancies, communicate timely correspondence back to both customers and vendors
  • Act as a liaison with Custom Brokers and agents, along with Ocean and Air Terminal Operators
Qualifications,Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or similar field of study with emphasis in: International Business, Logistics/Supply Chain, Marketing, Psychology, Sales or Transportation a plus
  • Previous experience in Freight Forwarding industry preferred
  • Prior experience with CargoWise One software system a plus
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and international applicable laws and regulations i.e. customs, TSA, security, and all other import and export government agencies that regulate international trade preferred
  • Basic knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities
  • Ability to work in a blended operations and customer development role
  • Ability to manage complex transactional or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; bi-lingual a plus
