Job summary

CarolinaEast Health System in North Carolina seeks a Staff Nurse for a 13-week contract. The nurse will provide direct patient care and serve as a charge nurse per the Nurse Manager’s expectations across assigned shifts.

36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts; not eligible for benefits; salary is $65 per hour plus applicable shift differential. Applicants must be a Graduate from a School of Nursing with an active NC or Compact RN license, maintain current BLS, and demonstrate strong communication

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care and functioning as a charge nurse according to the Nurse Manager’s expectation for an assigned shift.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate from a School of Nursing Current RN license with North Carolina State Board of Nursing or Compact License recognized by NC State Board of Nursing Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing.
• Possess the ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff and all others using proper channels of communication
• Recognize the importance of being a professional role model for others Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit(s).
• The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/ department's policies and procedures
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
• THIS POSITION IS FOR A 13-WEEK CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT*
• Salary will be $65.00 per hour plus applicable shift differential
• Contract employees will be assigned to specific divisions. To qualify, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in that specialty area.
• 36 hours per week/72 hours per pay period
• 12-hour shifts or unit designated work hours
• Scheduled based on the needs of the unit
• This position is temporary and not eligible for benefits
• Hired for a 13-week contract not to exceed 26 weeks
