Job summary

Athene is seeking an Internal Sales Specialist for our West Des Moines location to serve as a trusted resource for financial professionals, delivering product expertise, sales support, and responsive service that helps grow our annuity business. You will partner with Internal Wholesalers and cross-functional teams to drive opportunities and strengthen advisor relationships.

Responsibilities include providing product education, preparing accurate illustrations, and delivering high-quality service

Qualifications

• 1+ years of financial services sales experience or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication explaining financial products to advisors
• Experience with CRM platforms, annuity illustration software and AI tools preferred
• Organized, adaptable and customer-focused in fast-paced environments
• Progress toward industry education or certifications (LIMRA/LOMA) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional phone support to financial professionals answering product, sales and service inquiries
• Generate accurate annuity product illustrations and support marketing material requests
• Collaborate with Internal Wholesalers and partners to resolve service issues and identify sales opportunities
• Maintain knowledge of Athene products and industry trends; leverage CRM and AI tools to improve efficiency
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance sales culture with adaptability and continuous learning

Purpose

Join Athene as an Internal Sales Specialist, where you'll serve as a trusted resource for financial professionals by providing product expertise, sales support, and responsive service that helps grow our annuity business. You'll play an important role in delivering a seamless advisor experience while partnering closely with Internal Wholesalers and cross-functional teams to drive sales opportunities and strengthen distributor relationships.

Accountabilities

• Provide exceptional phone support to financial professionals by answering product, sales, and service inquiries while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
• Generate accurate annuity product illustrations, fulfill marketing material requests, and support advisors with product education and sales solutions.
• Partner with Internal Wholesalers, Service Liaisons, and business partners to resolve service issues, identify sales opportunities, and ensure timely follow-up.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Athene products, industry trends, and technology tools while leveraging CRM systems, AI-enabled resources, and digital tools to improve efficiency and advisor support.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance sales culture by demonstrating adaptability, critical thinking, continuous learning, and a bias for action.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1+ years of financial services sales experience or relevant professional experience, preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial products, processes, and concepts to a diverse advisor base while building trusted relationships.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with annuity illustration software, CRM platforms, and AI-enabled productivity tools preferred.
• Demonstrated organization, problem-solving, adaptability, and customer-focused mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Progress toward or completion of industry education or certifications (such as LIMRA or LOMA) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work or military experience will also be considered.
