Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on a nights shift. The assignment is PRN with a 12-week duration, offering $57.50 per hour and on-call opportunities depending on staffing needs.

Responsibilities include delivering safe patient care using the nursing process, direct patient care in ICU, and guiding patient/family teaching while coordinating with physicians about changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Overview:

Position: Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Nights
Compensation: $57.50 per hour

Assignment Details:

The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks; however, staffing needs will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
