Job summary

The Contractor Consultants is seeking an experienced Internal Operations Manager for an in-house Boston-based role. You will be the central operations link among leadership, estimating, project management, accounting, purchasing, and field operations to ensure every project is planned, supplied, and progressing on schedule.

You will drive pre-job planning, create load lists, coordinate purchasing, manage material sourcing, and maintain visibility across active workloads.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction operations, project coordination, or project-management experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction from project award through completion.
  • Experience with purchasing, material lead times, buyouts, and construction logistics.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings, specifications, project scopes, and schedules.
  • Strong computer, technology, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PDF software, and cloud-based systems.
  • Experience working with construction-management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Confidence communicating expectations and holding managers and employees accountable.
  • Ability to identify operational issues early and drive them toward resolution.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

You will serve as the central operational link connecting Building Restoration Services leadership, estimating, project management, accounting, purchasing, field operations, and foremen.

This is a strictly in-house operations position. A separate Field Operations Manager is responsible for field personnel and daily jobsite operations.

Your focus will be ensuring that every active project is properly planned, supplied, documented, and progressing according to schedule. You will maintain visibility across the company's active workload, identify issues before they become emergencies, track responsible parties and deadlines, and ensure critical operational tasks are completed.

This role is designed for an experienced construction operations professional who understands how projects move from award through completion and can bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a fast-moving restoration operation.

How You Will Make An Impact

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Keep project information accurate and current.
  • Monitor every active job through the system.
  • Track production against labor budgets, expectations, and project goals.
  • Review project photographs, reports, action items, and outstanding tasks.
  • Identify missing or late information and follow up with the responsible personnel.
  • Maintain consistent workflows and reporting standards.
  • Prepare operational reporting for company leadership.
  • Ensure managers and employees use software consistently and correctly.
  • Hold responsible team members accountable for maintaining required project information.
Technology & AI

Building Restoration Services is looking for someone who can use technology to improve operational visibility, communication, and accountability.

You Will
  • Use technology to strengthen project planning and internal communication.
  • Use AI tools to summarize project information, organize meetings, and track action items.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting and administrative work.
  • Create standardized operational checklists, templates, dashboards, and workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience improving internal construction processes and operational systems.

No college degree is required when supported by relevant professional experience.
