Job summary

Continental, a leading tire manufacturer, is seeking a Laboratory QA Technician in Sumter, SC to support raw material testing and production quality. You will perform material, compound, reinforcement, and chemical testing, analyze results, maintain lab equipment, and ensure compliant release of incoming materials for production.

Responsibilities

  • Perform raw material, compound, reinforcement, and chemical testing according to test plans and production requirements.
  • Review test results, determine re-testing needs, and communicate testing priorities with internal customers.
  • Support supplier complaint management, including evidence collection, corrective action follow-up, and 8D review.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, including IATF 16949 requirements and laboratory procedures.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and support corrective action activities.
  • Perform routine laboratory equipment maintenance and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Support process improvement projects related to materials, packaging, logistics, and supplier performance.
  • Promote environmental, health, and safety standards within the laboratory.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Be self-managed, detail-oriented, and capable of performing under pressure.
  • Follow all plant, ESH, CBS, quality, and department processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

YOUR TASKS
