Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to support the internal medicine team. The role includes ultrasound and radiology setup, assisting with GI/nasal/urinary/airway endoscopy, managing appointments and histories, and thorough medical record documentation.

Candidates should have prior veterinary experience (internal medicine preferred), strong drug calculation skills, flexibility, fast-paced efficiency, and excellent verbal and written communication.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required; internal medicine experience preferred.
• Proficient in drug calculations, CRI calculations, unit conversions, and similar tasks.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work extra hours when needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Manage appointments, obtain histories and update medical records.
• Document thoroughly in medical records and educate clients at discharge.

We are looking for: Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 7:30am-5:30pm

The Internal Medicine team is constantly working with our internists to provide information to our clients regarding patient care, updates and treatments. This is one department that focuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration. If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you!

What you'll do:

• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Manage appointments, obtain histories and update patients information
• Accurate and thorough documentation of medical records
• Patient discharge and client education

Who you are:

• Prior veterinary experience required, previous internal medicine experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation: This position has an initial hiring range of $27.25 to $34.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.
