Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, VA seeks an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to support hospital operations and patient care. Responsibilities include exams, diagnostics, nursing care, and assisting in surgeries with emphasis on high-quality service to patients and clients.

Qualifications

• Veterinary nursing skills including patient assessment and monitoring.
• Ability to assist during surgery and perform nursing duties.
• Strong communication with veterinarians, staff, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by examinations, records review, labs and imaging.
• Care for patients: vital signs, sample collection, meds, vaccines, wounds.
• Assist with examinations and operations; restrain patients as needed.
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, diseases, pharmacology and equipment.
• Obtain and verify medications; document and secure controlled drugs.
• Maintain medical records and communicate with owners as directed.
• Sterilize instruments, disinfect areas, manage inventory and supplies.
• Follow safety procedures and legal regulations.
