Qualifications

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine is required.
• Eligibility for unrestricted California medical licensure.
• Demonstrated commitment to resident and medical student education.
• Experience in rural or underserved communities preferred.
• Prior teaching experience with residents or medical students preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Devote approximately 16 hours weekly to residency administration, education, and resident supervision.
• Provide clinical supervision, instruction, and mentorship to Internal Medicine residents in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Facilitate didactic lectures, case conferences, journal clubs, simulation, and evidence-based discussions.
• Support resident wellness, professional development, and career planning.
• Participate in curriculum development and evaluation to align with ACGME requirements.
• Assist in resident assessment, milestone evaluations, and program improvement.
• Maintain an active clinical practice delivering patient-centered care.
• Engage in scholarly activities, research, quality improvement, presentations, and publications.
• Serve on departmental, residency, and institutional committees.

Responsibilities

Teaching and Mentorship

Clinical Care

Maintain an active clinical practice in Internal Medicine.Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care, including preventative services, chronic disease management, transitions of care, and acute inpatient/outpatient medicine.Serve as a role model for high-quality, evidence-based medical care.

Scholarship and Research

Participate in scholarly activities, including research, quality improvement projects, academic presentations, and publications.Encourage and mentor resident involvement in scholarly pursuits and quality improvement initiatives.Foster a culture of lifelong learning and inquiry.

Committee Participation

Serve on departmental, residency, and institutional committees as assigned.Contribute to program leadership, strategic planning, accreditation activities, and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications
