Job summary

Cladda Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Team in Fredericksburg, VA seeks a board-eligible Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist to lead a developing internal medicine service within a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital.

The role involves managing complex medical cases, performing advanced diagnostics, and collaborating with emergency clinicians and other specialties to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree with completion of an accredited internal medicine residency.
• Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DACVIM) preferred; board-eligible applicants welcome.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex internal medicine cases.
• Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics (ultrasonography, endoscopy, cytology).
• Collaborate with emergency and other specialty services on multidisciplinary cases.
• Build and mentor a technical support team for internal medicine.
• Engage in client communication and referring veterinarian relationships.
• Contribute to case rounds and hospital protocol development.
