Qualifications
- Must hold an MD or DO with at least three years of residency training in internal or family medicine.
- Valid American Board certification in internal or family medicine required.
- BLS certification and valid DEA registration necessary.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and treat their acute and chronic illnesses.
- Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Involve patients and their families in care decisions.
- Create treatment plans and document in patients' charts.
- Collaborate with staff and physicians to improve care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with billing and coding.
- Provide interdepartmental medical consultation as needed.
- Ensure accurate patient documentation and coding.

Location: 849 Boston Post Road, Milford, CT 06040
Work Schedule: M-F, flexible 4 day schedules available, very light, shared call
Scheduled Hours: 40, 36 clinical/4 admin

- Evaluate patients, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests
- Involves patients and their families in care and treatment decisions
- Creates treatment plans and completes orders in patient's charts
- Collaborates on improvements in care delivery and service with staff, other physicians and management
- Initiates appropriate specialty referrals
- Provides clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner
- Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate and complete
- Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding and CPT code assignment
- Achieves and maintains optimal patient access
- Provides interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
- Participates in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures and management of
- Degree of MD or DO with ABIM‑recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM‑recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum)
- Valid American Board certification in either internal medicine or family medicine and renewed (if needed) prior to expiration Valid and unrestricted Connecticut medical license BLS certification Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate
