Job summary

Medrina, a large physician-owned practice, seeks an Internal Medicine physician in McAllen, Texas. This role focuses on primary care for SNF patients with comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning in a clinic setting.

The position is a 1099 independent contractor, Monday through Friday with no weekend shifts, and part-time options available. We cover tail end of malpractice; competitive compensation and EMR documentation are expected.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Texas license to practice medicine.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine is required.
• Active DEA license is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of Internal Medicine experience.
• Experience caring for adult/geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to SNFpatients, including assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Responsible for full medical management and primary care
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Texaslicense
• Board certifiedin Internal Medicine
• Active DEA license
• Minimum 1 year of Internal Medicine experience
• Experience managing adult/geriatric patient populations
• Strong clinical decision-making and time management skills

Preferred Experience

• Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or post-acute care experience
• Inpatient hospitalist
• Geriatric Medicine

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting while working with patients as well as working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.
• Must wear the required PPE per company and/or facility requirement.
• Must comply with facility vaccination requirements.
