Panthalassa, based in Portland, OR, seeks an Internal Harness and Interconnect Engineer to own the dry-side wiring across the node technology. You’ll bridge Electrical Eng and Core Systems & Software teams, working with external manufacturers to deliver reliable, signal-integrity driven interconnects for continuous ocean conditions.

You will cradle-to-grave ownership from concept through fabrication and sea deployment, collaborating in a creative, scrappy environment where the best ideas

Qualifikationen

• Designing wiring harnesses for high-reliability systems (aerospace, marine, automotive or similar harsh environments).
• Deep knowledge of connector families (Phoenix, Amphenol, Deutsch, Molex) and shielding techniques.
• Diagnosing noise, grounding, and SI artifacts in mixed data/power cabling architectures.
• Proficiency in wire harness design software (Zuken E3.series, RapidHarness, or equivalents).
• Hands-on harness fabrication, crimp validation, and diagnostic instrumentation.

Aufgaben

• Be a leading contributor on the complete interconnection lifecycle for all dry-side node electronics, including connector selection and harness routing.
• Develop and standardize robust harness assembly workflows to ensure repeatable, high-yield builds from prototype to production.
• Embed Design for Excellence (DFX) into every harness iteration to reduce assembly time and improve reliability.
• Drive DFM to simplify connector counts and standardize keying and routing to prevent mis-mates.
• Drive DFT by integrating automated test points and derating strategies for thermal-mechanical stress.
• Architect clean signal and power pathways to minimize EMI, crosstalk, and ground loops.
• Manage interconnect BOM and vendor pipelines for procurement and obsolescence mitigation.
• Lead first article inspections and act as technical authority on electrical interconnect issues.
