Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop and execute employee communications across multiple channels. You will work with site leadership, HR, Operations, Safety, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and support engagement programs.

Ideal candidates will have strong written/verbal communication, organizational skills, and experience in a manufacturing setting. This role is full-time and onsite with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Experience developing communication materials and presentations preferred.
• Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and analyzing metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications.
• Develop and execute communication plans that support business priorities and organizational initiatives.
• Create and distribute employee communications through multiple channels including digital displays, emails, newsletters, presentations, and meetings.
• Partner with site leadership, HR, Operations, Safety, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
• Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and site events.
• Coordinate communication content, schedules, and approvals to maintain alignment with company standards.
• Gather employee feedback and identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness.
• Assist with crisis, emergency, and change management communications as needed.
• Maintain communication boards, digital signage, and other site communication platforms.
