UCHealth seeks an Internal Communications Strategist to serve as a strategic advisor, content creator, and writer for the IT communications team. You will partner with leaders to develop and execute comprehensive plans that advance technology initiatives and digital adoption.

You will translate complex technical topics into clear messages for diverse audiences, develop engaging content, and ensure consistency with external marketing efforts.

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option, but employee can sit out of an office in any region.

Summary
  • The Internal Communications Strategist serves as a strategic communications advisor, content creator and writer, primarily supporting UCHealth's Information Technology team.
  • This role partners with leaders to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that advance organizational priorities, technology initiatives, and digital adoption efforts.
  • Facilitates strategic direction and counsels peers on communication issues that have organization or business unit impact.
Responsibilities
  • A significant portion of the role is dedicated to developing communication plans, writing news articles, crafting newsletters, and creating engaging content across multiple channels including UCHealth's intranet and external internet.
  • The strategist provides expert counsel on employee communications, workplace experience, executive communications, and engagement strategies, ensuring complex technical information is translated into clear, relevant, compelling, and actionable messages for diverse audiences.
  • Develops content and materials to support organizational goals and mission.
  • Ensures internal communication message is consistent and aligns with external communication and marketing efforts. Assists with content development, collaborates on graphics and media, and distributes to targeted audiences.
  • Analyzes communication effectiveness and identifies areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Success in this role requires outstanding relationship-building, writing, editing, interviewing, and content development skills, with the ability to transform technical and operational topics into stories that resonate with employees and drive understanding and adoption
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, human resources, education or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare field and 5 years of experience designing and delivering communication materials.
