Job summary

Referment is seeking an Internal Communications Associate to improve how information travels across a complex organisation. You will develop communications that connect colleagues to business priorities, leadership updates and activity across the firm.

You will work with senior leaders and colleagues, translate complex topics for internal audiences, and move ideas from brainstorming to drafting, review and execution across multiple formats, including posts, events and videos.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of experience in communications, professional writing or editorial work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Strong organisational and project-management skills to manage multiple workstreams.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work with stakeholders at different levels.
• Interest in sourcing and executing new ideas, with intellectual curiosity.

Referment is working with a global investment and technology firm seeking an Internal Communications Associate to improve how information and ideas travel across a complex organisation. You’ll help develop communications that connect colleagues to business priorities, leadership updates and activity across the firm.

The remit spans strategy and hands-on delivery. You’ll work with senior leaders and colleagues across the business, translate complex topics for different internal audiences, and help take communications from early ideas through drafting, review and execution across several formats.

The Role

• Develop internal communications strategies and programmes aligned with business priorities.
• Partner with colleagues across the organisation, including senior leadership, to draft business updates and communications around strategic initiatives.
• Edit and improve content ranging from organisation-wide announcements and blog posts to live events and video.
• Turn complex information into clear, precise messaging for varied internal audiences.
• Support project and process management while contributing ideas from initial brainstorming through delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree and two to five years’ experience in communications, professional writing or editorial work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Strong organisation and project management, with the capacity to manage several workstreams and maintain close attention to detail.
• A collaborative approach and confidence working with stakeholders at different levels.
• Intellectual curiosity and the initiative to source and execute new ideas.

Experience in finance or technology would be useful, but it is not essential. The strongest candidates will show that they can quickly understand an unfamiliar business issue, identify what matters to an internal audience and shape an accurate, engaging communication around it.

This could suit an internal communications executive, corporate communications associate, professional writer or editor who enjoys combining careful messaging with cross-functional project delivery.
