Job summary

Perplexity is building an Internal Communications function from the ground up. You will own how information moves through Perplexity and influence what employees think, feel, know, and do.

This 0→1 role offers executive exposure from day one and a chance to shape how an n(1) company communicates with itself. You will drive storytelling across strategy, launches, and hard decisions while establishing channels and norms for a fast, informed culture.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in internal, executive, or corporate communications, ideally inside a high-growth technology company.
• A builder, not a maintainer. you've stood a function up, not just kept one running.
• World-class writing and editing. ghostwrite for an executive, draft all-hands, or defuse a sensitive announcement.
• Proven change-management instincts. delivered complex news to a whole company and kept trust.
• Sharp judgment under pressure. decide fast, say the hard thing kindly, maintain launch-day quality.
• Comfort with executives who hold a strong vision. advise, challenge, and make recommendations to senior leaders.
• Deep familiarity with corporate comms rules, and know when to bend them.
• Comfort using AI tools in your workflow, and explain how you use them.
• A passion for truth well-told.

Responsibilities

• Listen and learn across the company; propose what should be amplified or addressed.
• Run all-hands and executive content: planning, execution, measurement, evolution.
• Internal storytelling: translate strategy, launches, and hard decisions into messages.
• Be the signal in noise; establish channels, cadences, and norms for fast-moving company.
• Own change management; deliver news with clarity and candor, earn trust.
• Protect the culture; ensure our voice sounds like us as we grow.
• Measure what matters; operate in a high-velocity, high-humility environment.
• Partner across the company; brief executives directly and be a trusted truth-teller.
