Job summary

Manulife Financial is hiring for a front-line entry point into investment sales in Tempe, AZ. You will support financial advisors across the U.S. and Canada, combining sales support, relationship building, and analysis to influence client portfolios.

Within 120 days you’ll complete SIE, Series 7, and Series 66; licensing costs are covered, with paid study time and ongoing support to set you up for success. This role leads toward a client-facing sales career as you progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Analytics/Math is helpful.
  • SIE exam completion preferred.
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licenses within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture relationships with Internal Sales Management and Internal Business Consultants.
  • Conduct research and analyze competitor products to understand portfolio interactions.
  • Provide reporting, analysis, and insights to registered representatives to identify opportunities.
  • Unveil opportunities to improve efficiency of the Internal Sales Desk.
  • Participate in discussions to increase industry knowledge and product expertise.

Job description

This role is a front‑line entry point into investment sales and a clear path to an Inside Wholesaler role.

You’ll work directly alongside experienced Internal Business Consultants and Sales Leaders to support financial advisors across the U.S. and Canada and help grow the business.

You’ll combine sales support, relationship building, and analysis—partnering on territory strategy, preparing insights for advisor conversations, and helping deliver product updates that drive real client outcomes. This is not a purely analytical or back‑office role; it’s designed for people who enjoy working with others, influencing decisions, and building toward a client‑facing sales career.

Over time, you’ll develop strong knowledge of investment products such as mutual funds, ETFs, college savings plans, and managed portfolios, while gaining hands‑on exposure to how a sales desk operates day to day.

Within your first 120 days, you’ll complete the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 licenses. All licensing costs are fully covered, and you’ll receive structured training, paid study time during working hours, and ongoing support to set you up for success.

As part of this role, you’ll begin your career as a licensed financial professional. The next step moving into an Inside Wholesaler role involves proactive, high-volume phone outreach each day to build relationships and grow business, making this a great fit for individuals who genuinely enjoy connecting with people.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with Internal Sales Management and Internal Business Consultants
  • Conduct research and thoroughly analyze competitor products to gain proficiency in understanding how those products will interact with the overall composition of our clients’ portfolios
  • Partner with Internal Business Consultants to provide reporting, analysis, and insights to registered representatives, helping them identify investing opportunities and proactively uncover any potential market issues, so they can improve portfolio construction
  • Work alongside Internal Business Consultants to unveil opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internal Sales Desk
  • Participate in roundtable discussions and feedback sessions to increase industry knowledge and product expertise.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence by attending meetings and engaging other internal departments to understand John Hancock’s internal strategies.
  • Partner on projects for department initiatives to fully implement new processes, & Sales strategies across territories
  • Serve as priority point of contact for inbound sales inquiries and potential client relationship development opportunities
  • Assist in Continuing Education (CE) reporting process for large events
  • Help drive attendance to local events hosted by externals

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Commerce, Economics Analytics/Mathematics/ Statistics, or similar program is helpful.
  • Completion of Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam preferred.
  • Completion of Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses within 120 days of hire.
  • Proven curiosity about Capital Markets.
  • Desire to acquire sales experience within the financial services industry.
  • Proven relationship management skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly while applying creativity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with passion and a positive attitude.

Salary range is expected to be between

$49,000.00 USD - $81,700.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
