Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a New Graduate in an Internal Business Associate role to partner with internal consultants and the sales team. You will support development and execution of programs that help advisors grow their business and increase AUM, while learning about mutual funds, ETFs, UCITS, 529 plans and SMA accounts.

You will work toward Series 7/66 licenses and the SIE exam, with company-funded training and time to study during business hours to prepare for exams.

Qualifications

  • Expected Graduation of Spring/Summer 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Analytics/Mathematics/Statistics, or similar.
  • Interest in Capital Markets and desire to gain sales experience in financial services.
  • Must obtain Series 7 and Series 66 licenses within 120 days of hire, with SIE exam also required; licensing costs covered.

Job Summary:

New Graduates who join our Internal Business Associate role, have an exciting opportunity to partner with Internal Business Consultants and the Sales Management Team to support the creation, development and implementation of programs that help advisors grow their business and increase John Hancock Investments AUM. In this role, you will assist the Internal Business Consultants with strategically managing a territory, while aiding in research, reporting, providing insights, advice, practice management ideas and product updates to registered representatives. In this role you will develop a strong understanding of mutual funds, ETF’s, UCITS, 529 College Savings Plans and Separately Managed Accounts. As part of the requirements for this role, you will need to obtain the Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses within 120 days of hire so that you can then begin your career as a licensed financial professional. We will cover all costs associated with obtaining these licenses and will provide you with requisite training, and time to study during regular business hours to support you in being fully prepared for these exams. You will also need to complete your Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam. We will also provide reimbursement for these exam materials.

The Opportunity:
  • Build and maintain relationships with advisors and key internal Manulife partners
  • Provide input for the development and execution of the annual territory business plan
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and fund proposals for internal partners and investment advisors
  • Coordinating and participating in corporate and social events with industry professionals
  • Act as the main point of contact with internal and external partners
  • Schedule and confirm meetings for the District Vice President
  • Manage territory budgets
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings
  • Spearhead process for requesting Portfolio Manager access in the field
  • Plan and implement events right from the beginning planning stages, to the agenda to everything in between
  • Use mass email tool to manage email territory distribution lists, execute e-marketing campaigns and run tracking reports to analyze campaign success
  • Provide guidance to sales teams regarding internal Manulife policies and industry regulations governing sales practices

Referenced Salary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between $45,000.00 USD - $75,000.00 USD. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
