Job summary

CVR Energy, Inc. in Texas offers a summer internship introducing you to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through planning, walkthroughs, and control testing. You’ll join an internal audit team and gain perspective on audit phases and the auditor’s role.

Applicants should be accounting/finance juniors or seniors with a 3.0 GPA, strong communication, teamwork, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. U.S. work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Previous internships/work and/or coursework experience with public accounting / consulting firm, industry exposure preferred.
• Awareness of internal audit process and Sarbanes-Oxley Act preferred.
• Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other related platforms/systems
• Fluent in English, oral and written required.
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.

Job description

This summer the intern will be introduced to the Sarbanes-Oxley act through annual compliance project planning, process walkthroughs, and control testing. The intern will also be a team member on an internal audit and gain perspective on the phases of an internal audit and the role of an auditor.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• College students studying accounting, finance or related areas who are entering into their Junior or Senior year at an accredited College or University
• Cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent written and verbal communication; and presentation skills
• Previous internships/work and/or coursework experience with public accounting / consulting firm, industry exposure preferred.
• Displays soft skills effectively and promotes teamwork.
• Awareness of internal audit process and Sarbanes-Oxley Act preferred.
• Technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other related platforms/systems
• Out of the box thinking, problem solving, relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Fluent in English, oral and written required.
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
