Job summary

Spire Inc is seeking an enthusiastic, career-minded student or recent graduate to join our operations across our regions. This paid internship offers real-world experience by applying classroom learning to the natural gas industry and internal business functions.

As an Intern, you may rotate through accounting and finance projects, perform audits, and support reporting while developing essential professional skills in a team-oriented, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate rising junior, senior or graduate level student.
• Must be able to work 35-40 hours per week throughout the summer internship.
• Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Must participate in All Inclusive Onboarding and Project Poster Symposium

Responsibilities

• Opportunity to rotate between various accounting and finance assignments to potentially include:
• Financial and/or Operational Audits
• Compliance & Continuous Auditing/Monitoring
• Assist with performance of internal audits and special projects under the direction of the Audit Manager
• Document audit work performed while adhering to departmental and professional work paper standards
• Utilize effective communication skills to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients and team members at various level
• Assist with the generation of standard and non-standard reports
• Accountable for quality, accuracy and planning of own work is crucial
• Opportunity to travel to various business locations
• All other duties as assigned.

As an Intern, you may complete various projects and perform administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned department and natural gas industry.
