Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Support PLCs, VFDs, motor control systems, smart devices, and DCS.
• Learn power plant maintenance practices from experienced Maintenance Journeymen.
• Utilize drawings, CAD systems, and other engineering documentation.
• Assist maintenance personnel in understanding operation, maintenance, and reliability of power plant equipment.
• Work in an industrial environment with physical labor and varied conditions.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including adverse weather and near water when required.

Job Summary

We are offering an opportunity for an individual aspiring to work with power generation mechanical and electrical plant components. This opportunity will be at our Power Generation Urquhart Station generating plants. This is a part-time position with an individual pursuing an associate degree while performing 15 to 20 hours of work at Urquhart Station per week. The schedule will vary depending on the individual’s class schedule.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems associated with power generation equipment.
• Supporting work on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor control systems, smart field devices, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Working alongside experienced Maintenance Journeymen to learn and apply power plant maintenance practices.
• Utilizing technical drawings, blueprints, CAD systems, and other engineering documentation.
• Assisting Maintenance personnel in understanding the operation, maintenance, and reliability of power plant equipment.
• Performing work in an industrial environment that may involve climbing, bending, lifting heavy equipment, and standing for extended periods.
• Working both indoors and outdoors, including during adverse weather conditions.
• Working in areas near water, including docks, boats, and barges, when required.
• Industrial Maintenance/Operations or related mechanical degree
• Must be at least18 years of age
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Education Requirements

• Electronics Technology orProduction Operator
• Have successfully completed at least one year in one of the approved programs at a 2 year associate or technical school
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Hourly Rate:

$23.00 - $24.00

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
