Job summary

TC Energy is offering a Student Intern position to support environmental compliance, GHG reporting, methane management, and air emissions programs across U.S. operations.

You will gain hands-on experience with emissions inventories, regulatory research, and data management. You will work with experienced professionals, participate in QA/QC reviews, and help ensure audit readiness while learning about natural gas operations and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited environmental or data analytics degree program.
• Completed at least one academic term before May 2027.
• Returning to full-time studies after the internship.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize GHG, methane, and air emissions data for reporting.
• Reconcile inventories, permits, LDAR records, and supporting docs.
• Support data consistency, documentation quality, and audit readiness.
• Perform QA/QC on emissions datasets and reporting workbooks.
• Conduct regulatory research on GHG, LDAR, and air emissions.
• Prepare summaries of regulatory developments and compliance obligations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Student Intern to support environmental compliance, greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting, methane management, and air emissions programs across U.S. operations. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental compliance, emissions reporting, regulatory analysis, data management, and environmental program controls. The successful candidate will contribute to emissions inventories, reporting processes, quality assurance activities, and regulatory research while developing an understanding of natural gas operations and environmental compliance requirements. What you'll do

• Collect, validate, and organize greenhouse gas (GHG), methane, and air emissions data used for federal, state, corporate, and voluntary reporting
• Reconcile emissions inventories, permits, calculation tools, monitoring plans, Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) records, and supporting documentation
• Support efforts to improve data consistency, documentation quality, and audit readiness
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of emissions datasets, dashboards, environmental information system records, and reporting workbooks
• Conduct regulatory research related to greenhouse gas, methane, Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), and air emissions requirements
• Prepare summaries of regulatory developments and environmental compliance obligations
• Support environmental reporting, program controls, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist environmental teams with data analysis, records management, and compliance-related activities

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics, Environmental Policy, or related degree program
• Completion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027
• Returning to full-time studies immediately following the work term
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic training in environmental science, engineering, air quality, data analytics, environmental policy, or a related field
• Familiarity with greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting, methane emissions management, air emissions programs, or environmental compliance activities
• Experience working with data systems, databases, data validation, or reporting tools
• Interest in climate policy, environmental regulations, emissions management, and sustainability initiatives
• Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting
• Exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment
• Commitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
