Job summary

TC Energy invites a Student Intern to support natural gas scheduling, commercial operations and energy market analysis. You’ll gain hands-on experience in scheduling, transport and storage optimization, and market fundamentals while collaborating with experienced professionals in a fast-paced commercial environment.

This May–Aug 2027 term offers exposure to ENDUR ETRM systems, data analysis, and cross-functional teamwork, with a hybrid workplace model in the US.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Economics or related degree program.
• Completion of at least one academic term prior to May 2027.
• Returning to full-time studies after the work term.

Responsibilities

• Support natural gas marketing activities for an assigned operating region.
• Assist with transaction entry and administration within ENDUR ETRM system.

• Analyze market information and discuss natural gas market fundamentals.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Student Intern to support natural gas scheduling, commercial operations, and energy market analysis activities. This role provides hands‑on experience supporting commercial marketing within the natural gas business. The successful candidate will gain exposure to natural gas scheduling, transport and storage optimization, energy trading support systems, and market fundamentals while working with experienced professionals in a fast‑paced commercial environment.

As a Student Intern, you will contribute to meaningful work that helps connect people, communities and industries to the energy they rely on every day. You will gain hands‑on experience working alongside experienced professionals, applying your academic knowledge to real‑world projects and helping support the safe and reliable delivery of energy across North America. What you’ll do

• Support natural gas marketing activities for an assigned operating region
• Assist with transaction entry and administration activities within the ENDUR Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system
• Support transport and storage optimization activities
• Analyze market information and support discussions related to natural gas market fundamentals
• Assist with commercial reporting, data validation, and operational processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support daily business activities and commercial decision‑making
• Develop an understanding of natural gas transportation, storage, and trading operations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Economics or related degree program
• Completion of at least one academic term prior to the start of the work term in May 2027
• Returning to full‑time studies immediately following the work term
• Availability to work full‑time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the work term

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of natural gas markets, energy market fundamentals, or commercial operations
• Familiarity with energy trading, transportation, storage, or scheduling concepts
• Interest in commercial optimization, economics, market analysis, or energy trading
• Experience working with data analysis, reporting tools, or business systems
• Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting
• Exhibit the TC Energy corporate values and incorporate them into work activities and initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment
• Commitment to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity
