Job summary

Hussmann is offering a 12-week Summer Internship Program in Trade Compliance, running from mid-May to early August, to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree. You will gain exposure to US import/export regulations, collaborate with senior leaders, and participate in an Innovation Challenge that could shape Hussmann’s regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorm and utilize Excel and IT skills to assist the team in developing additional processes across the compliance organization to meet global compliance regulations and improve efficiency.
• Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
• Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.
• Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events.
• Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge.

Hussmann’s Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann.

As a Trade Compliance Intern in the 2027 Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into US import and export trade compliance regulations and related process management at Hussmann.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operations that will help you understand how global trade compliance impacts business from a legal and operational standpoint.
• Brainstorm and utilize Excel and IT skills to assist the team in developing additional processes across the compliance organization to meet global compliance regulations and improve efficiency.
• Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization.
• Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality.

Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you’ll present your team’s business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization – and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann’s next great innovation.

The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student.
