Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) offers a year‑round internship in Lincoln, NE, supporting the NonDestructive Testing department under NDT Level 3/2 supervision. You will perform Computed Radiography, Ultrasonic, and Penetrant inspections, interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing and Production teams to help solve manufacturing problems from NDT results.

The role requires enrollment in related technical courses, with no prior experience needed.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in related technical courses or within 6 months of graduation.
• Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree-seeking program.

Job Summary

Support the NonDestructive Testing department. Under the supervision of the NDT Level 3 or Level 2 duties would include: Perform Computed Radiography Inspections. Perform Ultrasonic Inspections (A-Scan & C-Scan). Perform Penetrant Inspections. Interfacing as required with Engineering, Manufacturing and Production personnel. Helping to solve manufacturing problems from NDT results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working towards completion of an Associate Degree in NonDestructive Testing.
• Completed Radiation Safety training through an approved curriculum that meets the requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services for the State of Nebraska.
• This is a Year-Round Internship located on-site at our facility in Lincoln, NE.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related Technical courses or be within 6 months of graduation; No prior experience needed.
• Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree-seeking program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.
