The Muscatine Power and Water internship in A/O Technical Services offers hands-on experience in substation projects under the Sr. Project Engineer and Technical Services Supervisor.
It enables learning of applicable NERC standards and collaboration with technicians to understand testing and maintenance of substation equipment. As an intern, you will assist with equipment identification, maintenance-management processes, and gain exposure to System Control, Metering, Engineering and Water
The Muscatine Power and Water (MPW) A/O Technical Services Department Internship does not require prior knowledge but will help the selected person gain a better understanding of the utility's operations. The intern will have access to support and resources as needed and will have an opportunity for independent work.
All the members of the A/O Technical Services Department and the A/O Engineering Department will support the intern and help answer questions as they come up. In addition, the group will meet weekly to track/steer project progress, identify tasks and additional resources needed for upcoming tasks.
The intern is projected to work 40 hours/week for 9-10 weeks, beginning in late May, but some time off can be scheduled within that time frame.
