Job summary

Muscatine Power and Water is offering an A/O Technical Services Internship in Muscatine, IA. You will work with a Sr. Project Engineer and Technical Services Supervisor to complete substation projects and learn NERC standards.

The internship runs 9–10 weeks, 40 hours/week, beginning in late May, with access to support and resources, opportunities for independent work, and job shadowing across departments including System Control, Metering, Engineering, and Water.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering student preferred; internship experience a plus.
• Superior customer service and teamwork required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and listening abilities.
• Regular attendance throughout the internship duration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with substation projects under senior engineers.
• Learn and apply applicable NERC standards.
• Shadow technicians to learn testing and maintenance of substation equipment.
• Help identify and surplus obsolete equipment and materials.
• Support maintenance management program activities.
• Job shadow opportunities across multiple departments.
