Job summary

Crystal Group, Inc. is seeking an Intern, Systems Engineer to support the Engineering team on-site in the United States.

This role focuses on selecting key electronics technologies for product development and acting as the intermediary between design, compliance engineering, and Sales to ensure design requests are properly captured. The position blends technologist, product line engineer, and systems engineer responsibilities and reports to the Director of Engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen, permanent resident, or protected status)

Responsibilities

• Verify system components and technologies for performance and ruggedness.
• Assist with systems engineering activities and requirements validation.
• Maintain the Product Offering Technical Solution documentation.
• Lead with design teams to complete projects.
• Provide technical input to Project Managers for project delivery.
• Lead PDR/CDR and manage associated artifacts.
• Serve as a key resource to Manufacturing and senior engineering.

Job Summary

Responsible for selecting key electronics technologies utilized in the development of products and product families for the company. Acts as the intermediary between the design and compliance engineering teams who collects the requirements from the customer and the sales department who requests the design. Systems Engineer is a combination of technologist, product line engineer, and systems engineer.

Essential Functions

• Verifies system components and technologies have excellent performance and long life and can be ruggedized for the military market segment of our business
• Assists with engineer activity in systems engineering, benchmark testing, and requirements validation
• Responsible for maintenance of the Product Offering Technical Solution to document the as-built system configuration
• Systems Lead and works with the mechanical and electrical engineers committed by the Design Engineering Manager to successfully complete the project
• Provides technical assistance and process input to the Project Managers for their successful delivery of their assigned projects
• Lead the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) / Critical Design Review (CDR) and manage the PDR / CDR artifacts associated with their projects
• Key resource to Manufacturing and senior engineering during normal operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Understands technology trends to provide high-performance computing, networking, display, and system integration options
• Working knowledge of how to develop a computer server, integrate related technologies, and options to maximize utility by a customer.
• Written and verbal communication skills are needed to promote excellent service to customers and coworkers.
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization

Required Qualifications

• Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional exposure to manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for extended periods during product testing.
