Job summary

Teknor Apex Company is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Intern to assist demand and supply planning, material purchasing, and production scheduling within the Supply Chain organization in Rhode Island. The role provides hands-on exposure to forecasting, SKU analysis, and cross-functional projects, with opportunities to learn S&OP processes and data-driven planning using AI tools.

• Currently a college junior or senior majoring in a relevant field.
• Interest in supply chain planning, forecasting, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong AI and Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, formulas, and charts).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support core planning functions across demand planning, supply planning, raw material buying and planning, production scheduling, and inventory management.
• Assist with SKU-level forecasting, product family taxonomy analysis, and S&OP/S&OP process development.
• Contribute to pigment harmonization and cross-functional initiatives.
• Support growing use of AI tools to improve forecast accuracy, data analysis, and planning efficiency.
• Collaborate with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, Production Scheduling, and Manufacturing teams on high-impact projects.

Job description

The Supply Chain Planning Intern will support core planning functions across Teknor Apex's Supply Chain organization, including demand planning, supply planning, raw material buying and planning, production scheduling, and inventory management. The intern may assist with SKU-level forecasting, product family taxonomy analysis, S&OE/S&OP process development, and cross-functional initiatives such as pigment harmonization, gaining hands-on exposure to how planning decisions connect to procurement, manufacturing, and customer service. The intern may also support the team's growing use of AI tools to improve forecast accuracy, data analysis, and planning efficiency.

The intern will work closely with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, Production Scheduling, and Manufacturing & Business unit teams on high-impact projects, gaining exposure to end-to-end supply chain planning, forecasting methodology, and process improvement.

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

• Current Junior or Senior College Student majoring in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration / Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics / Statistics, Finance
• Interest in supply chain planning, forecasting, and manufacturing operations
• Strong AI and Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, formulas, and charts)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements
