KB Signaling is seeking an Intern, Supplier Quality Engineer in Warrensburg, Missouri. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting quality planning, inspections, and supplier quality activities in a manufacturing environment.

You will assist with First Article Inspection, PPAP, dimensional analysis, and data-driven problem solving, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams.

Formación

• Qualifying students must be enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program.
• Knowledge of GD&T and metrology helps.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD and quality tooling a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Support quality planning and product validation activities for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Assist with inspection, testing, and evaluation of products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and supplier quality activities as required.
• Perform dimensional analysis and review engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and report quality data using statistical and problem-solving techniques.
• Assist in root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to product and process non-conformities.
• Support quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving process capability, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams on continuous improvement projects.
• Create and maintain quality documentation, inspection records, and reports.
• Utilize 3D CAD models and engineering drawings to support product and quality evaluations.

Industrial Quality Engineer Intern (Mechanical Engineering)

• Support quality planning and product validation activities for mechanical components and assemblies.

Skills and Competencies

• Basic understanding of quality engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of measurement and inspection techniques using common metrology tools.
• Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools, equipment, or laboratory testing.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
