HOLT CAT is seeking a College Intern to work with the CAT Support team under the direct guidance of a Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training and build practical understanding of how the department operates.

This onsite, San Antonio internship offers exposure to maintenance, installation, repair, testing, welding, and diagnostics of CAT equipment, with an emphasis on safety, learning, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Travel is not expected for this position.
• Adheres to safety policies and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Receive coaching and feedback from leadership.
• Perform maintenance on equipment.
• Install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components.
• Test equipment and ensure proper functioning.
• Operate wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts with hand or power tools.
• Weld and perform NDT tasks to standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

HOLT CAT is looking for a College Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on‑the‑job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation.

Essential Functions

• Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadership
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
• Perform maintenance
• Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components
• Clean and/or lubricate machines
• Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning
• Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools
• Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components
• Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met
• Performs other duties as assigned
