Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. offers a 10-week Production Internship supporting Asphalt and Paving operations.

You will gain experience in asphalt production, paving construction, project estimation, quality control, safety, and operational management through structured learning, field exposure, and project-based assignments. The role provides interaction with estimators, engineers, project managers, and field personnel, including site visits and operational reviews.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• No work experience required; 6 months – 1 year internshippreferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist estimating with cost estimates for asphalt paving, grading, and roadway projects.
• Review plans, bid packages, specs, and drawings to understand requirements.
• Gather pricing information for materials, equipment, labor, trucking, and subcontracted services.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
• Participate in bid preparation activities and estimate reviews.
• Learn methods to evaluate project risks, production challenges, and profitability.
