About the Chobani Internship Program

At Chobani, our interns are part of the team from day one. Through meaningful hands-on work, interns contribute to real business priorities while gaining experience in their field of interest.

The program is designed to give interns end-to-end ownership of a defined project or business problem whenever possible, from understanding the need and building a workplan to executing the work, gathering input, and sharing outcomes or recommendations. Interns are supported through mentorship, manager guidance, cross-functional exposure, networking opportunities, and learning experiences that help them better understand Chobani, La Colombe, our business, and our culture.

Position Overview

As a Process Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on engineering experience in a food manufacturing environment, supporting work related to process optimization, troubleshooting, equipment, and capital projects.

This is an opportunity to apply engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges while helping support Chobani's mission of making high-quality and nutritious food accessible to more people. As Chobani continues to introduce new products, invest in manufacturing capabilities, and expand how we serve our consumers, Process Engineering plays an important role in helping those products be produced safely, efficiently, and at scale.

You will work alongside the Engineering team and other onsite partners to better understand manufacturing processes, identify opportunities, solve technical problems, and support engineering solutions. • Help troubleshoot production and process-system issues.
  • Support optimization projects and engineering studies in partnership with onsite teams.
  • Update and modify technical drawings, including P&IDs and Process Flow Diagrams.

  • Support process-system sizing and equipment specification.
  • Collect and analyze technical information to understand problems and evaluate potential solutions.
  • Prepare scope documents, process descriptions, and other engineering documentation.
  • Present project progress, technical findings, recommendations, or outcomes to key stakeholder
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and July 2028
  • Available for the full Summer 2027 internship program.
  • Able to work onsite at our South Edmeston, New York manufacturing facility.
  • Completed or currently completing coursework in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, or other relevant process engineering fundamentals.
  • Foundational understanding of fluid and mechanical systems, including concepts such as flow, pressure, energy and mass balances, pumps, piping, or equipment.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to analyze technical problems and evaluate potential solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship, work, research, or project experience in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, or another process-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on exposure to piping, pumps, fluid-handling systems, manufacturing equipment, or maintenance.
  • Experience reading or working with P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, or other engineering drawings.
