Job summary

OGE Energy Corporation is seeking an Intern - Plant Operator to support field operations and learn on-the-job under direct supervision. You will handle simple reports, operate equipment, and assist with routine maintenance while following established guidelines.

The role includes learning to diagnose basic issues, perform standard safety procedures and communicate effectively with team members. Travel to various sites may be required, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and pursuing an Associate's Degree or higher in a technical discipline (e.g., Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations).

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine reports and maintain maintenance records.
• Operate machines and equipment as directed.
• Possibly drive automotive equipment to job sites.
• Assist skilled workers with maintenance, repair or construction using basic tools and supplies.
• Provide directions and respond to routine inquiries within standard procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Keep work areas and machines clean and orderly.
• Assist in assembling tools, supplies, and maintaining them in serviceable condition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• * Prepares simple reports or keeps maintenance records, and other routine duties in various craft trades.
• * Operates machines and equipment.
• * May drive automotive equipment to and from work sites.
• * Assists skilled craft workers in a variety of maintenance, repair, or construction work by furnishing and using simple tools, materials and supplies.
• * Assists the department and members by providing directions, instructions and responses to routine inquiries.
• * All other duties as assigned.
• * Cleans work area machines.
• * May assemble tools, supplies, materials, and equipment and assist in maintaining them in serviceable condition.

REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS
