Job summary

OCTA College Intern for the Measure M2 PMO will support day-to-day activities, analyze project controls, and prepare a snapshot-view matrix. You will assist with document retention, website content accuracy, and materials for PMO meetings under supervision and a mentor.

Paid internship for current full-time students, about 20 hours per week, up to 1,000 hours per year, with no employee benefits. Gain practical transportation program experience in Orange County under experienced professionals.

Qualifications

  • Full-time college student enrolled at an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Interest in transportation funding, public infrastructure, program management, and capital programming.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze monthly Project Controls progress reports and prepare a snapshot-view matrix with updated costs, schedules, status, and forecasts for M2 projects.
  • Research and prepare project updates for inclusion in M2 Quarterly Reports and other collateral materials.
  • Assist with record retention by monitoring and populating the M2 Document Center.
  • Ensure accuracy of content on M2 website and prepare materials for M2 Program Management Committee.
  • Collaborate with GIS to update status on maps for M2 projects and programs.
  • Track emerging sales tax measure activity and developments relevant to the M2 Program.

Job DescriptionCollege Intern – Measure M2 Program Management Office (PMO)OCTA is seeking a motivated student to support the successful completion of day-to-day activities in the M2 PMO. The intern will support the mission of ensuring M2 projects and programs are delivered as promised to Orange County voters. They assist section staff with analyzing program progress, preparing documents and reports, coordinating with other departments on various deliverables, and maintaining/archiving program records.Under direct supervision, you will perform a variety of professional entry-level duties related to your major field of study and the sponsoring department's current business operations. As a College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA's career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation's many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking.OCTA's College Intern Program is a year-round paid student/intern program. You will gain real world work experience on meaningful projects under the guidance of a transportation professional. You will have the opportunity to use problem solving, communication and decision-making skills as you gain valuable work experience. You will also work with a mentor and benefit from career counseling.The pay range is from $20.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on your education level. This position is not eligible for employee benefits.
