Job summary

Merck Gruppe - MSD Sharp & Dohme is offering an internship in the Discovery and Technology Research department for a student in their final year of Bachelor or Master studies in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences. You will work on liposomal formulations for DNA vaccine delivery, with training and independence to contribute ideas in a dynamic pharmaceutical setting.

Qualifications

• Last year of Bachelor or Master education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Life/Life Sciences with knowledge of material properties.
• Basic understanding of cell biology/cell culturing and/or immunology preferred.
• Excellent Dutch and/or English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Available for a period of at least 6 months for 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Liposomal nanoparticle formation for DNA vaccines.
• Physical chemical characterization using light scattering techniques (DLS).
• DNA encapsulation efficiency of different liposomal compositions.
• Transfection efficiency of DNA-containing liposomes in different cells.
• Provide a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion.
