Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a motivated Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) Intern for a 12-week May 2027 start in Stuart, FL. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in problem-solving, process optimization, and innovative manufacturing solutions within a dynamic aerospace environment.

Responsibilities include supporting kaizen workshops, assisting in equipment design, and collaborating with engineering teams to implement Pursuit production system. Onsite hours are Mon-Fri 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to operate under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and developing equipment, tools, fixtures, and carts for aerospace operations.
  • Support KPO workflows including documentation, process optimization, and data-driven tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to build, test, and refine prototype equipment.
  • Perform hands-on fabrication tasks such as assembly and measurement.
  • Maintain engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical records.
  • Participate in process studies and suggest efficiency/safety improvements.

About the Opportunity:

Pursuit Aerospace is looking for a motivated Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO) Intern to join our team. This paid internship will be a 12-week experience starting late May 2027. This role provides an exciting opportunity to learn and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by participating in and supporting kaizen workshops to implement the Pursuit production system. The intern will gain hands‑on experience in problem‑solving, process optimization, and innovative manufacturing solutions within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment.

Location:

Stuart, Florida - Onsite. Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This internship does not include relocation assistance, housing accommodations, or transportation support. Interns must secure their own reliable housing and transportation for the duration of the program.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in designing and developing equipment, tools, fixtures, and carts that support aerospace operations.
  • Support KPO workflows including documentation, process optimization, and data‑driven engineering tasks.
  • Collaborate with engineering tech leads to build, test, and refine prototype equipment.
  • Perform hands‑on fabrication tasks such as assembly, measurement, troubleshooting, and iterative improvements.
  • Help create and maintain engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical records.
  • Participate in process studies and recommend improvements for efficiency and safety.
  • Support the integration of engineered solutions into production or testing environments.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and quality
Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full‑time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge or experience with Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong passion for designing and buildingnot just creating virtual models.
  • Experience or enthusiasm for hands‑on work with mechanical tools, fabrication, assembly, or prototyping.
  • Basic understanding of CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and follow engineering processes.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
