Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Cyber Security and AI Intern to join the Lifecycle Services team in the US. You will assist analysts in monitoring security alerts, triaging incidents, and documenting findings while gaining hands-on experience with AI-driven use cases and SecOps concepts.

As an intern, you will help develop automation scripts using Python and APIs, support incident response workflows, and contribute to SOPs and SOC runbooks.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a four year or advanced degree program at an accredited university.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future.
• Demonstrated interest in cyber security and AI applications in SOC environments.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to automation and incident response processes.

Responsibilities

Internships within Lifecycle Services (LCS) provide unique opportunities to develop your engineering, analytical, and customer-centric skills.

As a Cyber Security and AI Intern, you will...

• Assist analysts in monitoring security alerts, triaging incidents, and documenting findings

• Support incident response workflows (ticket creation, enrichment, and escalation tracking)

• Help document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and SOC runbooks

• Identify repetitive tasks suitable for automation (e.g., alert triage, ticket summarization)

• Contribute to the design and testing of AI-driven use cases (GenAI, AIOps, SecOps)

• Support development of AI-assisted workflows for:

  • Alert correlation and prioritization

  • Incident summarization

  • Root cause analysis support

• Analyze SOC data (alerts, logs, incidents) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies

• Support development of automation scripts or workflows using APIs, Python, or platform-native tools

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Active enrollment in a four year or advanced degree program at an accredited university

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Met us through an event or interned with us in the past

• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

• Demonstrated desire to deliver high-quality customer service

• A valid U.S. driver's license

• Experience solving challenging problems with creative solutions

• Demonstrated experience using AI to automate processes and data analysis

• Experience working with Python and API's
