Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's imaging team in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist within the Imaging/CT department. You will support inpatient and outpatient imaging through procedures under supervision and contribute to accurate positioning and safety.

The role emphasizes preparing patients, administering contrast when appropriate, and assisting physicians and technologists across various imaging workflows in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma equivalency and enrollment in an accredited program specific to discipline.
• BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date required.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to patients under direct supervision.
• Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors accurately.
• Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
• Prepare for and assist supervising technologists and physicians in imaging procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations.
• Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department including rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.

Our radiology team includes certified specialists and provides advanced imaging services across fast-paced inpatient and outpatient environments. We offer flexible scheduling and professional growth through cross-training, and work collaboratively to support diagnostics and critical interventions, contributing directly to exceptional patient care and positive outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Provide services to patients under the direct supervision.
• Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors accurately.

• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

What You Will Need

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Education:
• High school diploma equivalency AND enrolled in an accredited program specific to discipline.
