Job summary

Midland States Bank is seeking an Intern in Talent Acquisition at our Effingham, IL office. You will assist with high-volume retail recruiting, review resumes, conduct phone screens, and help coordinate interviews while gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of talent acquisition in banking.

The role runs Summer 2027, requires enrollment in a related degree, and expects strong communication, organization, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in HR, business, organizational leadership, or related degree with at least two years completed.
• Interested in a career in Talent Acquisition.
• Able to work 40-hour weeks, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Review resumes and applications to support retail recruiting across the Bank's branch network.
• Conduct candidate phone screens using established recruiting processes and guidelines.
• Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews and communicate throughout the recruiting process.
• Maintain accurate candidate and recruiting information within the applicant tracking system.
• Participate in Talent Acquisition team meetings and hiring manager discussions.
• Maintain compliance with relevant regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
