Job summary

Hoyle Tanner invites motivated engineering students to join the Highway Group Internship Program. The position supports planning, design, inspection, and construction activities across our Chelmsford, MA, Portsmouth NH, Manchester NH, or Burlington VT offices.

The paid internship offers hands-on CAD work, site visits, and technical reporting, with collaboration on project meetings and assistive tasks from engineering staff. Start date is May 2027 with potential earlier starts.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BSCE program is preferred.
• EIT is preferred, or ability to obtain.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with highway project planning, design, inspection, and construction support.
• Prepare CADD drawings and contract plans, perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Attend site visits for projects under construction.
• Compile technical reports and project documentation.
• Support project meetings and coordination efforts.

We are seeking motivated interns to join The Hoyle Tanner Internship Program in our Highway Group within our Ground Transportation Division. This position can be based out of our Chelmsford, MA, Portsmouth, NH, Manchester, NH or Burlington VT office. This is a paid internship opportunity. Start date is anticipated to be May of 2027. Earlier start dates are available on a limited basis.
