Job summary

Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking a graphic design intern to support our in-house Marketing and Graphic Design team in Oklahoma City. You will work on a range of assets for print and digital formats, under the Manager, Brand Design, gaining practical experience in a professional sports marketing environment.

The role emphasizes creating on-brand visuals, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Presently enrolled at an accredited college or university and approved by your school to receive internship credit.
• Graphic design/fine art majors are preferred.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) on Macintosh.

Responsibilities

• Design and production of assets in print and digital spaces (ads, posters, invitations, etc.).
• Assist with maintaining and establishing design department policies.
• Stay connected with new design trends, techniques and technology.
• Participate in internship program activities and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Duration: Spring 2027 (January-May)

Work Location: Oklahoma City, OK | In Person

Weekly Commitment: 12-29 hours per week

Are you a college student hoping to launch your career in creative design? As the Intern, Graphic Design, you will use and enhance the skills you’ve learned in pursuit of your major as you assist with producing a wide variety of graphic design requests. This internship provides an ideal training environment for a career in design or professional sports marketing! The Thunder’s in-house Marketing and Graphic Design department serves as an internal agency to support company-wide marketing strategies. As a department, we support needs across the organization for artwork and design, using established core brand and visual themes.

Our internship program provides practical work experience in a professional environment as well as supplemental program activities such as resume reviews, personal and professional development workshops and other events crafted to enrich the internship experience.

In this role you will:

• Design and production team-related assets in the print and digital spaces, including ads, sales collateral, animation, posters, digital graphics, invitations, etc.
• Assist with maintaining and establishing design department policies
• Stay connected with new design trends, techniques and technology
• Participate in company-scheduled internship program activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Presently enrolled at an accredited college or university and approved by your school to receive internship credit
• Students pursuing a degree in graphic design/fine art are preferred
• Possess an understanding of printing methods and the steps by which digital artwork becomes a printed page
• Experience using Creative Suite on the Macintosh platform working primarily in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail
• Effective communication, active listening, and collaboration skills

Additional details:

This is a paid, in-person internship reporting to the Manager, Brand Design. Work schedule will occur during regular business hours. This internship does not provide housing or transportation and does not guarantee a full-time position with the Thunder upon completion.
