GEI Consultants, Inc. in New York City invites motivated interns for Summer 2027 to assist with engineering and environmental science projects across the U.S. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn from our team and gain broad experience.

Interns will perform calculations, prepare spreadsheets and drawings in AutoCAD, assist with proposals and reports, and participate in data management and field documentation. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering; soil mechanics/structural analysis coursework preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a technical degree program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; willingness to travel and work in the field when needed.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Assist with engineering and/or scientific analyses and design.
• Observe fieldwork, including construction activities.
• Perform computations, prepare spreadsheets, and prepare and edit drawings using AutoCAD.
• Assist with preparing proposals and reports.
• Assist with data management and analysis, and preparation of field documentation and reports

Minimum Qualifications

• Pursuit of one of the following:
• B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering. Soil mechanics, structural analysis, or similar course work preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a technical degree program.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel on assignment, if needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to work in the field, as needed.
• Ability to perform field work in active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather, if required.
