Job description

The Global Events team at Akamai designs and executes high‑impact marketing programs around the world. As an Event Marketing Intern, you will support the execution of our 2026 global event strategy across both internal and external programs, including work with our Executive Briefing Center (EBC) in Cambridge.

Responsibilities

• Supporting end‑to‑end event planning and execution
• Conducting primary and secondary industry and market research
• Collaborating cross‑functionally with Product Marketing, Creative, Campaigns, Marketing Operations, and Field Marketing teams
• Assisting with budget tracking and spend documentation
• Coordinating with vendors and external partners
• Supporting customer experiences at the Executive Briefing Center
• Helping deliver impactful digital and in‑person events

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Business, Marketing, or a related field, and returning to school after the internship
• Passionate about live and experiential marketing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Comfortable managing shifting priorities
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communication abilities
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills

This is a hybrid role requiring some in‑person presence at Akamai's Cambridge HQ. Interns are expected to be available 40 hours per week during the summer months (May‑August).
