Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an ASIC Verification Engineering Intern in the Data Center Solutions group to contribute to next‑generation NVMe SSD controllers and PCIe products.

You will verify at IP/subsystem or SOC level under senior engineers and gain exposure to industry best practices. You will learn storage concepts (ARM, AXI, PCIe, NVMe), write Embedded C, Python/TCL scripts, and use UVM environments to debug SOC verifications.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing BS in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred.
  • Strong digital design, computer architecture, and C programming knowledge.
  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog and scripting (TCL/Python).
  • Analytical, debugging, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Ramp up on storage-related concepts: ARM, AXI, PCIe, NVMe, DDR, NAND.
  • Learn and apply verification methodologies under guidance.
  • Debug and root-cause failures in SOC within SOC verification environment.
  • Write Embedded C code and run test cases; develop Python/TCL scripts.

Job Description: As an ASIC Verification Engineering Intern in the Data Center Solutions group (DCS), you will work on developing and validating our next generation Data Center Storage products, including enterprise class NVMe SSD controllers and other PCIe-based products. This will involve verification at the IP level/subsystem or SOC level. You will be mentored and coached by experienced engineers and be exposed to Microchip's Best-In-Class engineering practices.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Ramping up on storage-related technical knowledge/concepts: ARM, AXI, PCIe, NVMe, DDR, NAND Flash, DMA, encryption, and so on.
  • Learning through practice of verification methodologies.
  • Working under guidance of the technical lead.
  • Working in the SOC verification environment to debug and root-cause failures in SOC.
  • Writing Embedded C programming code and run testcases.
  • Verification environment using UVM testbench.
  • Run and develop Python/TCL/Shell verification scripts to test the SOC verification.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Actively pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, MS degree preferred.
  • Courses in digital design, computer architecture and C programming is a must.
  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog, C programming, TCL/Python/Shell Scripting.
  • Excellent analytical, programming, debugging and scripting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with simulation, UVM and simulation tools a plus
