Job description

At Clark Pacific, the Engineering Intern supports the design, fabrication, and installation of architectural and structural building systems. Working as part of an integrated project team within a specific business unit, this role provides hands‑on exposure to engineering, project management, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration across design, manufacturing, and field operations. This internship is ideal for a positive, curious, and motivated individual eager to learn and grow within the construction and engineering industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
  • Learn and assist with design‑phase activities, including submittal drawings, design approvals, reinforcement drawings, and miscellaneous metal drawings.
  • Learn and assist with manufacturing and production‑phase activities, including shop drawings, material coordination, casting schedules, and quality checks.
  • Learn and assist with field and erection‑phase activities, including crane studies, rigging diagrams, shipping coordination, and field manpower planning while supporting quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Learn and assist with general project management tasks, including issue identification and resolution, procedure submittals, escalation of issues when appropriate, and monitoring of contract specifications, budgets, and schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in engineering and construction management preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering‑related field in progress or completed is preferred.
  • Strong desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a team‑based environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • High level of curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
